099: The Sound of the End

I’m not apologizing. Face the truth, cowards.

✪ Personal Life ✪

  • It’s hot and I hate the sun.
  • Wow, I haven’t done one of these in a while. Um… let’s just say I don’t know what boredom is anymore??? LOL. If there isn’t something I need to do then there is something I want to do. It’s nice. Not complaining at all. I have been spoiling myself something fierce lately, but oddly enough my favorite splurge is the least expensive one. I got a hardcover journal, washi tapes, stickers, a bunch of pretty writing utensils, and started working on the cutest journal of all time. Never underestimate the power of a good journal/diary. I always feel productive when I fill a page up and decorate it with adorable crap. Yeah… Being so in touch with all things creative is really amazing. I am blessed infinitely in that aspect. I cannot imagine a life where I do not have a creative bone in my body. It sounds like hell. D:
  • Momocon with Tiffa, Mark, and Ashley was a blast! I consider it my first real convention experience because the other conventions I went to were not even half as crowded and exciting as Momocon. I really loved it. The cosplays were amazing, the shops ruined me financially (LMAO), and I just loved the energy of the place. Everyone was just showing their passion for their interests. I loved it. I really did. I hope the next convention I go to will be the complete experience. I’ll fight my antisocial ways to do it! I want to go on a road trip and stay in a hotel and go everyday, you know? I’m interested in EXPCon in Florida and Dragon-Con, but we’ll see how that all goes. Either way, I’m gonna make sure I save up a shitload of money this time… and maybe bring a portable chair so we don’t have to eat on the floor again. 😛
  • On to the not-so-good things. A recurring theme of the past year has been death. Death, death, and more death. Sometimes talking about it helps. Sometimes I talk to the wrong people about it and it just makes shit worse. It all depends. *sigh* Let’s just move on to something else…
  • Uh… Did I mention getting a new laptop? I don’t know. I’m just glad to have a laptop that can actually close. LMAO. The last one would snap at the hinges and make scary noises if we tried to close it. Then again, it’s like… ten years old. It still works and everything, but I have to carry it like a newborn or something because the slightest thing can make it break. Anyway, I love this laptop. I named it Drogon because obvious reasons.
  • Was politics always this draining? Geez… Next bullet point.
  • I got a wisdom tooth pulled out because it was hurting like all hell. It wasn’t too bad though. Once the bleeding stopped it was easy street after that. Can’t say the pain was too bad either. I thought it would be terrible, but after a day it was pretty much nonexistent. Also: laughing gas. So much fun! LOL. I promise I don’t have any drug problems (surprise, right?). It was just fun… and I would understand if someone took laughing gas regularly but I would not recommend it. >>
  • I did so much cleaning in 24 hours that I want to high five myself. Good job, Kerri! ❤
  • So… We finally got a washer and dryer and we were *SO* close to not living like peasants until we learned that our old-as-balls apartment had outlets in the laundry room that do not work and a dryer outlet that doesn’t match modern day prongs. So… Yeah… We’re working on getting that shit handled. My gut tells me that an electrician will have to get involved, though, and I don’t like strangers in my home. *cries forever*
  • I really underestimated the soothing power of face masks. I will not make the same mistake again.
  • … Debating giving someone permission to touch my eyebrows and my hair because it looks fun, but at the same time I have to give a firm no. *sigh* Why am I like this? LOL. Sometimes I think the only way I’ll get over this overwhelming hatred of being touched by strangers is… being touched by strangers… which is also a firm no. Ugh, I’m hopeless.
  • I think that’s it? I don’t know. I write most of my personal life crap in my journal, so discussing some things feel repetitive. I guess I should move on for now.

✪ Art & Writing ✪

  • FUCK YEAH.
  • SO MUCH DRAWING.
  • SO MUCH WRITING.
  • Whoo~
  • Okay, I’m done.
  • It’s pretty sad that I have to keep telling myself “smaller eyes, bigger nose” every time I draw. Anime continues to ruin my life. ;_;
  • Well, as productive as I am, I would still love just one week in a remote, quiet place to write and draw to my heart’s content. I think once I generate enough PTO I’m just going to rent a cabin somewhere with Mark, and he can do all his nerd hobbies in peace and I can do all my nerd hobbies in peace and then we can reunite throughout the day to share a meal or blabber about our accomplishments. That sounds so nice. ^^

✪ Anime & Manga ✪.

  • “Kado: The Right Answer” went from interesting to WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON so damn fast.
  • Diamond is Unbreakable had the nerves to end on me. I am so offended. I miss it so much.
  • WOW. I found this anime called “Room Mate” and I don’t even know how to feel about it. First of all, these first-person animes always feel like Dora the Explorer for otakus. Secondly, I cannot deal with the guys having their clothes randomly disappear during the end credits. Lastly, the fanservice is so blatant. I don’t know… let’s see if this gets as bad as that pillow anime. You know the one I’m talking about.
  • The new Berserk anime follows the manga so well! I can get past the.. um… “unique” graphics for that reason. Actually, the graphics are not so bad once you get used to them. I’m just not 100% into traditionally 2D animes using CGI and stuff like that. I’m getting over it though.
  • Speaking of Berserk, the manga is finally at a point where Casca is in Elfheim and her mind is being examined. It only took an eternity to get to this point, right? Anyway, there will be more at the end of June. I’m ready. It’s time. Something needs to be done with Casca because as adorable as she is in this mentality-of-a-toddler state, I miss the old sword-swinging Casca that yells at Guts when he’s being arrogant and stupid. 😀
  • I’m debating about trying VRV because it has some animes that I can’t find on Crunchyroll but… I don’t know. I think I already have too many streaming services right now. LOL
  • My nephews suggested that I finally watch “Kill La Kill”. LMAO. I used to make their formula and change their diapers, and now they’re telling me what anime to watch. Ugh, time… time is so weird.
  • Can I put Steven Universe in this section? Well… Who is going to stop me? Fufufu~ Anyway, Steven Universe is getting so intense. This is how cartoons are supposed to be! I used to pity children because all they had to watch were the same High-School-Musical-esque crap that Disney was spitting out, but now shows are getting so good that children like my nephews actually have good shows with important storylines. I think we’re in an animation renaissance right now and we don’t even know it. Uh… back on point… Steven Universe is good and animation is so important. Okay, thanks.

✪ Video Games ✪

  • Where the hell do I even start? Damn.
  • My only complaint about Persona 5 is that it didn’t last for the rest of my life. In other words, it’s amazing. But Persona is always amazing so no one is surprised. (Take some pages from Atlus’ book, Square).
  • Every time I see an article calling Nier: Automata a “surprise hit” I internally snicker because the original NieR was a fucking masterpiece and it’s sad that it wasn’t appreciated because of the same baby reviewers whining about graphics. I am so tired of whining about graphics. Which goes to my next game…
  • Officially tired of hearing whining about the Mass Effect: Andromeda graphics. It was not as good as the last Mass Effect games. I get it. But sometimes I have to sit through endless bitching about the graphics before anyone gets to the characters or gameplay. Can we please stop talking about graphics already -_-? It’s like… bitching about art. If you don’t like it then deal with it. No one cares. Every game should have its own unique style, and not be held to this “but-does-it-look-real?” standard. …That being said, ME:A could have been better as a Mass Effect title. There were definitely points when the game felt rushed, but overall it was not a monstrosity or anything. I could easy enjoy it for hours and connect with the party members like other Mass Effect games. At worst, it’s a 7 out of 10 if graphics are a HUGE deal to you. For those of us in the gaming community who remember playing with pixelated sprites and will be forever grateful that game characters actually have fingers now (LMAO), I’ll give it an 8 out of 10. I hope Bioware can do better in the future. No love lost for the series though.
  • No, I did not forget Breath of the Wild. Of course I am playing Breath of the Wild. Or… I was playing it. It was so hard to stay focused once these new games started dropping. *sigh* Anyway, the main reason why I am not playing nonstop like I would other Zelda games is really stupid. I just can’t get over my aggravation with the weapons and armor system. When I’m in a boss battle and I end up having to give up because all of my weapons are broken, it just annoys the shit out of me. Because it stops being about hand-eye coordination and starts being about focusing on the lifespan of Link AND his damn weapons. I know, I know. GIT GUD. It’s without a doubt the best game to come out this year. Seriously. It’s an AMAZING game that deserves all of its praise. I just need to get over my own issues and appreciate the infinite amount of things this game gets right. I also need to get over how weird the Wii U gamepad feels. Not really feeling the Switch right now, so I’m not about to buy it just to play one game. -_- Anyway, I still love this game a lot. LOVE THIS GAME. I can’t wait to play more now that my other games are pretty much over.
  • I finally got into Undertale and it’s everything that everyone said it is. I am always late to everything. D:

✪ Books ✪

  • I just need to let it be known that Mark is a terrible influence, and if you ever visit a comic book shop with him he will convince you to ruin your financial situation. But he’s cute so I’ll allow it. ^^
  • The most recent comic I fell in love with was “Monstress”. The amount of effort that went into building the world alone is fucking amazing! I was so inspired by the time I caught up to the most recent issue. It’s one of the few times when I suckered myself into buying a comic just for the art and the storyline was just as good.
  • Caught up on “Saga”… and I wasn’t ready. ^^
  • I decided to read “Snotgirl” because the art is beautiful and the author who wrote “Scott Pilgrim” did the story. Overall, it is okay.
  • I finally started listening to the audiobook of “Ready Player One”. So far, it’s not bad. I’m over the explanation of common terms that every geek already knows, but I remind myself that the author is trying to make things easier to understand for those of us who did not get pushed into lockers in high school (LMAO… Why am I laughing at this? Getting pushed sucked. -_-). Anyway, I’m only four chapters in. Let’s see how the rest goes.

✪ Music ✪

  • PERSONA 5 OST
  • BREATH OF THE WILD OST
  • KINGDOM HEARTS 2.8 OST
  • NIER: AUTOMATA OST. Spoiler: ANYONE WHO SKIPS THE SONG FOR EMIL’S SHOP IS NO FRIEND OF MINE.
  • My music life has just been soundtracks after soundtracks after soundtracks, man. Loving it.

✪ TV & Movies ✪

  • Thank you for coming back into my life, Orange is the New Black.
  • I finally caught up on Silicon Valley. It’s pretty funny. I’m curious to see how it will all end since Richard just has the shittiest luck on the planet… sometimes due to his own ridiculous decisions.
  • The Handmaiden’s Tale is horrifying to watch. My goodness. Gilead is absolute hell on Earth, and just the slight possibility that it could happen makes it even worse. I mean… similar things happened to women in the past, so it’s not a huge stretch of the imagination. I’m just anxious thinking about how horribly it’s going to end.
  • At the risk of sounding petty as fuck, I am loving all these entitled, misogynistic assholes throwing a tantrum about Wonder Woman putting their favorites to shame at the box office. And now the theatre that had women-only screenings are being sued? Really? You have nothing else to spend your time and money on? LMAO. Mantrums. Gotta love ’em. By the way, when I went to see Wonder Woman with Mark this dude behind us straight up wolf-whistled when Diana changed into Wonder Woman, and I lost count of how many people were straight up glaring in his direction. Maybe this is why women don’t want to watch movie with ya’ll. I know, I know. “Not all men”. But even Mark–a man–was ashamed of his gender after that happened and completely understood why women would want to appreciate the significance of a successful superheroine movie without some horny creep ruining it. …I’m going to stop ranting because it’s completely overshadowing what this movie accomplished. Years ago, no one wanted to touch it because they adamantly believed that a superhero movie starring a female hero would flop. Now we have this superheroine who is tough enough to lift a tank but feminine and cute enough to lose her cool when she sees a cute baby or eats ice cream (IT IS THE CUTEST THING). I love it. I will bury the lesser members of the male gender attempting to ruin this by appreciating all the women and men who supported this movie, and appreciated it too. Well done, Patty Jenkins, and thank you! ^^
  • Speaking of movie making me proud to be who I am (LMAO), that Black Panther teaser had me in tears. WOW. I mean… to see black people living in Africa and they’re not starving or being saved by fair-skinned saviors is a huge deal. And anyone who says “Meh-meh-meh-it’s-not-about-race” or “Bleh-bleh-bleh-SJW-ruin-everything” can fall off a cliff. Shut the fuck up and miss me with that “we’re all the same” bullshit until you open a fucking book about inequality in our society. *deep breath* Sorry. Ignore, ignore, I know. Anyway, it really means a lot as a black woman to see black women depicted as fierce warriors, and to see Wakanda so rich in the culture of Africa that movie tend to either overlook or mock. Seriously, when I watch black reviewers get teary-eyed as a reaction to the teaser… it is so beautiful and I understand 100% how it feels. If I have children they will watch this movie one day. My nephews will watch this movie one day. It is so important for them to watch a movie and not see people who look like them being enslaved or thrown in prison or being feared as “thugs”. So, that’s why I got teary eyed. I am just proud that we went from blackface to this colorful, beautiful assembly of black characters in a throne room who are thriving in a society where they are not the minority. That’s all. And if that makes me a SJW then I am just fine with it. If looking forward to a society where everyone can be proud of who they are is being a SJW then sign me the fuck up. LOL. Anyway, I’m excited. I’m really excited. I can’t wait until February. T u T

✪ Whatever Else/Closing ✪

*Phew* Glad I got that all out! 😛

All in all, I am doing a-okay, and doing my best to enjoy life as I move into my 30th year.

Moments like going to Momocon with Tiffa and Ashley remind me that life really is about smiling and laughing as much as possible. I want continue doing the things I love with the people I love so that I never lose sight of what matters during the darkest hours of my life. It’s my goal to value strength above all else. The strength to overcome, the strength to endure, and the strength to keep hope. And if that sounds cheesy then it sounds cheesy. That’s just how I I feel.

*sigh* Okay, I’m off. I have more weekend left to enjoy and I haven’t even started playing Breath of the Wild yet. I can’t wait until that four-day weekend at the start of July. Yes… I am so ready to get into another writing marathon! (:<

Iggy must be thinking about them new recipehs. Or how fine Gladio is. It’s all good.

Anyway, got through a weeklong vacation that was much, much, much needed, and I’m just going through the most memorable moments. Keep in my that I am an introvert, so if you’re expecting a story about me going out in public and interacting with others you will be so disappointment. Oh, boy. So disappointed.

  • FINAL FANTASY XV (aka JUST DUDES BEING BROS XV/JUST BROS BEING DUDES XV). I am in love! The game is not perfect. In fact, I’d give it a solid 8 out of 10 because the main story was so short, but the content that was there was definitely a rollercoaster. I’m happy to hear that Tabata wants to make this game playable for a long time, and plans to drop all kinds of free and paid DLCs throughout 2017. Looking forward to it! Also, looking forward to the New Game + option so I can start the replay I’ve been dying to make since I finished the game. Overall, I am a happy camper. I love this game. ♥
  • Also, that soundtrack is incredible. Yoko Shimomura is a damn genius. Fight me if you disagree. Q( ‘_’ Q)
  • Thanks to FFXV inspiration to write has been through the roof this week! I can’t remember the last time I was up until daybreak because I lost track of time while writing. I think I really needed a gool ol’ FF game to remind me what it is I love about writing in the first place. The fun that comes with building a world, forming bonds between characters, being free to make all the rules you wish–it is so refreshing. I wish I had more time in the day so I could finish the entire story but… a good 25,000-30,000 words will have to do for now. I plan to spend my every break after returning to work doing editing so I can go home and continue working on the rest. I’m excited. I hope I can start adding the story to the website, but I don’t want to do that until I’m 100% sure that I won’t end up scrapping it like I always do. LOL. We’ll see. I love the direction it is taking now though.
  • Yuri!!! On Ice has taken control of my life. You may also fight me again if you don’t love Viktor x Yuri. Also, I can’t believe the delusional people saying that Viktor and Yuri are just really good friends, even after what happened in the 10th episode. LMFAO. Like… breh… come on. Breh. Come. On. It’s canon. Just stop. Come on, breh.
  • I am in love with March Comes In Like A Lion too. I didn’t think an anime about Shogi would be so interesting, but there it is.
  • I’m like… 30 episodes into Monster which is a fucking miracle. I’ve been starting and dropping both the manga and anime for a few years now. This is the farthest I’ve come. I wish I had stuck it through a long time ago. It’s a really good series that deserves all the acclaim it received. How is this anime/manga not an American movie yet is really alarming to me. It feels just like one.
  •  Why is The Last Guardian and everything else Fumito Ueda makes so amazing. I can’t do this anymore.
  • I LOVE MY CHRISTMAS TREE. AND SO DOES LINK. STOP ATTACKING THE FUCKING TREE, LINK.
  • I haven’t touched Tales of Zestiria or Skyrim during my whole vacation and I probably won’t for a while because FFXV is so precious to me. Whoops~
  • I don’t even know what else to say. I got so much sleep and watched so much good stuff and played so much FFXV and wrote so much and I’m just really happy. I can’t wait to get Christmas and New Years breaks, and I can’t wait until I accumulate more PTO so I can do this again. Maybe I’ll wait until Mass Effect: Andromeda to roll around, or FFVII Remake. Or Persona 5. I don’t know. There are so many games I want to play until I hate myself when they come out. I’m looking forward to it. …Not hating myself but you know.

I think that’s about it. I plan to make a more detailed review of FFXV when the time comes, but honestly I want to tackle the DLCs that are supposedly being released this month to see if they add more to the game or not. I’ll see. Really, I want to get into the spoilers… more specifically that ending. Ugh, all the tears. I can’t do this right now. -.-

Alright then. I’m off. Happy Holidays if I don’t get around to it later! ♥

P.S. It’s snowing on my blog again! #blessed (LOL)

097: Stand By Me

Just Frank Castle things.

✪ Personal Life ✪

  • Geez… Where the fuck do I begin?
  • Everything is Lunafreya right now and you’re damn right I’m going to fangirl about FFXV in a minute.
  • February was definitely a great month. I got to meet my new nephew Jaden, hang out with Ash, Tiffa, and Mark, and finally get my hands on a Wii U!
    • Jaden – He’s such a cutie pie ♥♥♥! Why are my nephews and niece so precious? I don’t deserve them. 😥
    • Hangout – So, Ash came down from NC to visit a bunch of her ATL friends, including me, Tiffa, and Mark, and we had a blast with her. I can’t remember the last time I laughed as much as I did that day. We were just being a bunch of goofs together. LOL. All in all, it was great–great friends, great conversations, great places, great food. I can’t wait to do it again. This time we will actually put some effort into planning because Mark almost led us to our deaths. Bad Mark.
    • Wii U – This belongs in the gaming section. Still, it is probably the best Valentine’s Day gifts I ever received.
  • Mark and I found a new hobby that is guaranteed to concern the people we know. There is a shooting range right down the street from our place, and we’ve become obsessed with… well… shooting shit. My only complaint is that it’s loud as hell. And the kickback will knock your fucking teeth out if you don’t keep control. Otherwise, it’s a blast (no pun intended). The great thing is that I’m surprisingly decent at it. I mean, my eyesight is garbage so I was sure I would miss my target, but I ended up getting mostly headshots at 50 feet distance. According to Mark that is good. At least I know I’ll survive somewhat in the zombie apocalypse, right? LOL. I don’t know. He’s the military kid, so he’s been my mentor on all things gun related. Anyway, it’s fun. GREAT stress relief. That is a definite!
  • I got a chance to work remote and it was like winning the lottery for a day. LOL. I don’t even care about raises or promotions anymore. I just want to eventually get permission to work from home everyday. That is my dream job right there. And since I love the work I do my career will be 100% enjoyable for me. No more waking up at 3am, no more driving in traffic, no more spending my lunch playing taxi–none of that shit there. Just me, my music, my laptop, and my pajamas. Fuck. Yes. I want it now. ლ(╹◡╹ლ)
  • I’m ashamed of some of the things I find hysterical. For example, every time I hear/read, “Swiggity swooty, I’m coming for that booty,” I giggle like an idiot. Then the other day Mark and I were trying to decide on dinner and he googled “good food”. Dude, I was crying. Like… what was he hoping to accomplish with that vague-ass search? I’m done (╥ □ ╥)! Now I’m giggling because while watching Daredevil Mark said that since Matt is blind he probably hits on girls by saying, “Hey, girl, let me hear them titties,” and… *siiiigh* My sense of humor is in ruins. Don’t look at me.
  • I got new glasses after seven years or so, and it is so fucking weird. I didn’t know real life was this crisp.
  • Link is temporarily annoyed with me because a cat outside was following Mark and me and climbing our shoulders, and he watched all of this from the window with a pissed expression. So… Yeah… We feel like two-timing whores now. Sorry, Link. 😦
  • I don’t know what else to add in this section. I’m feeling OK. I’m working on improving certain areas of my life. I guess that is it then. Moving onwards~

✪ Art & Writing ✪

  • I can always tell when I’m in a good place art-wise because my art supplies will move from my desk to everywhere else. It also doesn’t help at all that every time I get a little extra cash I just add to that shit like I have all the space in the world. In my defense, I always said as a child that when I become an adult and have money I would buy all the art supplies I want. So, I’m sure the young Kerri in me is cartwheeling around in excitement. Anyway, I’m not complaining. I do need to be more organized, yes, but I’m as happy as pig in shit over here. I want to draw forever. ♥
  • Writing is now working out smoothly because I decided to put all my writing-related things in one book. Brainstorm? One book. Drabbles? One book. Charts? One book. At times I’ll think, “Yadda-yadda would be a good idea”, and then I’ll just write in my book “Yadda-yadda is a good idea”. Often times right in the middle of doing something else, like shopping. LOL. I’m pretty much inseparable from that book. It’s like my brainstorm encyclopedia, and it makes things infinitely better. If you’re a writer you have to get a brainstorm book. It’s extremely awesome. Stick it in your purse with some pen(cil)s and never worry about forgetting a good idea again. 😀
  • By the way, if you order a sketchbook online and it says “MASSIVE, HUGE” then believe it… because I ordered one thinking, “please no sketchbook is too big for me” and this one is ridiculous. In terms of length  and width it’s not bad. Maybe 11 x 12-ish. But it has like 600 pages, its the size of an encyclopedia, and there is no way I’m carrying that almost 20 lb. tome of a sketchbook outside of this place. So. Yeah. I have so many pages that at this point I’m just sketching any random shit that comes to mind. LOL

✪ Anime & Manga ✪

  • It only took me an eternity, but I finally managed to watch all of Fushigi Yuugi including that horrible sequel. Yay! At first I was disappointed that Miaka was gravitating towards Tamahome instead of Hotohori, but eventually I stopped fighting it and accepted the obvious reality that they are one of the most adorable couples ever created. I also wanted nothing but the best for Yui too because even though she was so pigheaded at times she was never a bad person. Ah… I love it. I’ll always have a soft spot for shoujo anything. They make me feel so warm and fluffy inside. (。´ ‿`♡)
  • Completely in love with Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable.
  • Of course I caught the FFXV: Brotherhood anime. It’s decent so far. I just wonder how long it’s going to take to release all of the episodes. ARGH IMPATIENCE.
  • I am completely in love with Hunter x Hunter. I’m so glad that I finally finished it. Now I feel kinda hollow because I was immersed in this world for weeks and now it’s just… done. I hate when that happens. LOL. I’m already looking into collecting the mangas so maybe that will help.
  • New Berserk anime! *backflips through a wall* Yaaas, I need more! I’m already hyped as shit because they finally made it to Elfheim, so… yeah. Let’s get this series done in my lifetime please. >_<
  • The new Sailor Moon Crystal looks so much better. Also, Michiru! My queen!
  • Broke down and purchased the Oyasumi Punpun and Gunslinger Girl omnibuses. Totally worth it. Now my heart can break all over again. Yay!
  • What the hell is even Sekkou Boys? (╥ □ ╥)
  • I guess Turn-A-Gundam is no longer in copyright jail because they’re actually selling the DVDs in stores now. I damn near screamed when I saw the first part of the set at MovieStop. Silly gundam moustache and all, I absolutely love this series. Loran is definitely my favorite Gundam pilot of all times. He is so adorable. I can’t stand it. Also, Yoko Kanno doing the music is just… *deep breath*… Get away from me if you hate this series. I don’t need that negativity in my life.
  • Geez, what else? The Lost Village is creepy as fuck and I have no idea what is going on. Finished Ace of Diamond and I really want Chris Yuu’s eyebrows. Slam Dunk is my shit now. Sakamoto is funny as hell. My Hero Academia is so nice! Ah, so much anime to talk about. Maybe another time.

I know I’m forgetting something but it’s been a few months. I’m trying. -_-

✪ Video Games ✪

  • Ah, yes. The Wii U. It kind of came to me unexpectedly. Sure, I was planning to get it eventually, but one day Mark was just like “surprise,” and then I had a Wii U. He already got me Hyrule Warriors before I got it, so I had that to play (ADDICTIVE). It came with Mario Kart 8 (FUN). The moment Twilight Princess came out I got that (GLORIOUS). Eventually, I did get Xenoblade Chronicles, even after the whole Amazon crap I had to deal with to get it (LONG STORY BUT WHATEVER THIS GAME IS RPG ROYALTY), and that was well worth all the headache. I have zero complaints. I love it. The gamepad is ridiculously nifty and feels more like another handheld console at times. I don’t know what else to say. I’m completely in love with it. I am beyond fortunate. Thank you, life, for not always shitting on me! \(^O^)/
  • GET READY FOR SOME FFXV FANGIRLING.
  • First of all, I watched that FFXV Uncovered video from start to finish, and even though it was cheesy at times I was hyped as fuck. I’ve accepted my badge as a Square-Enix bitch ages ago. I can’t help it anymore. Needless to say, they are going above and beyond with this one. And they better. They’ve been working on this game for over a decade now. I was still in high school when they announced it, and back then it was FF Versus XIII or whatever. The wait is finally over, guys. I can’t believe it. Come September 30th FFXV will actually be here! Well… it might come a little later for me. I preordered the deluxe edition (the ultimate edition practically vanished) with overnight shipping, so if I’m lucky I’ll get on the first of October. If not, then it will probably show up the following Monday. Tuesday the absolute latest before I lose my shit. LOL. Either way, I’m ecstatic. I love the idea of an anime, a movie, another demo, and even all the other ridiculous things like an actual car that no one can buy. I’m indifferent to the mobile game, but I’ll try it out once I get a phone that doesn’t give me an insufficient storage warning every time I try to download something. I mean… Fuck. I don’t know what else to say. The moment I heard Florence and the Machine singing her version of “Stand By Me” (Yes!) FOR this game my eyes started to water. I couldn’t help it. It’s like someone just took all of my favorite things, put them in a box, dumped it in front of me, and said, “Enjoy it in six months, bitch”. It’s like… that feeling you get as a kid when someone told you that you were going to Disneyworld. When I realize this thing I’ve been waiting over ten years to experience is only months away I just want to celebrate, regardless of the possibility that it might be straight up dick. I don’t even know what I’m saying. I’m just excited and sappy and relieved and hopeful. That’s about it. I can’t wait!!!  ʘ‿ʘ
  • Oh, and you can bet your ass that I played that demo. The gameplay felt a lot like Kingdom Hearts tbh. Which is not a complaint at all. It’s so enjoyable that I’m already thinking of playing it again. Plus Carbuncle and bb Noctis are so adorable! I want an esper/eidolon/GF/summon/etc. to talk to me via text messages. 😮 And of course I’m so uncreative that when I was asked to name Carbuncle I just named him Carbuncle. LOL. I don’t start giving people and things dumb names until the second playthrough at least. Dems the rules.
  • Can I talk about Sakaguchi showing up to the conference? I miss him. ;_;
  • New updates for Nier Automata too! Yes, I need moar!
  • Finally tackling that Hearts of Stone DLC for The Witcher 3. I’m loving it. I never get tired of Geralt. There could be an entire DLC with him watching paint dry and I’ll probably write a review saying, “A work of art. Fantastic gameplay. 10/10.”
  • I can’t sign on Steam anymore because the instant I login this person keeps IMing me to talk about Sailor Moon and its connection to the occult and I don’t know how to say “go away” without hurting his/her feelings. Why did I end up in this situation? Why is it the more antisocial I become, the more people keep talking me? Why? Why?

✪ Books ✪

  • Do comic books count? Because I’ve been reading through a lot of omnibuses lately, mostly Daredevil.
  • I did get the first eight books of The Wheel of Time series for like $10 and was set on reading it… but then I got distracted… and then Mark took that honor for me. LOL. He got through three books in like a week, so I have to hear nonstop about how awesome it is while simultaneously loathing myself for not getting past the second chapter of the first book. I just need one good week to focus 100% on my hobbies. (◞‸◟;)

✪ Music ✪

  • The Legend of Legacy OST is everything. Pianoschlacht Live is also pretty important to me. Bless Masashi Hamauzu. Kinda OT, but I found out recently that Masashi Hamauzu got his daughter to sing the vocals in “The Vestige” from the FFXIII OST. I just had to mention that because it is really neat and adorable at the same time.
  • BEYONCE DID IT AGAIN! >:U
  • My music life has been mostly Pandora. I really need to do something about my stations because I swear I have like twenty of them. It’s not really my fault though. How do you put instrumentals, trip hop, classic rock, alternative rock, hip hop, r&b, and several other genres in one station? Then there are some artists/bands that need their own station because I have a lot of moments where I only want to hear their music or music that sounds similar to theirs. I did put my movie, game, and anime soundtrack stations into one station called “writing & drawing*, but even now I’m thinking of breaking them into separate stations again because video game music is not like movie music, you know? *sigh* I’m hopeless.

✪ TV & Movies ✪

  • THIS NEW SEASON OF GAME OF THRONES IS REALLY GOOD SO FAR. WOW.
  • I don’t think I discussed The Force Awakens yet. I loved it! My biggest complaint is that there was not enough Captain Phasma, but I heard she was supposed to get more screen time in later episodes. GOOD. You can’t hire fierce queen Gwendoline Christie aka Brienne of Tarth to play a stormtrooper and not make her kick ass. Not allowed, JJ Abrams. e_e
  • Season two of Daredevil… Wow. Just wow. I loved every second of it. Sure, it has its flaws, but none were so troubling that I couldn’t enjoy it. Frank/The Punisher is amazing. Elektra is amazing. I still love Matt/Daredevil, Karen, and Foggy. I love that some of the characters from season one came back. It’s just so good. I can’t wait for Luke Cage and Iron First and The Defenders!
  • I think I mentioned watching The Sopranos before. That is all done, so now I just have to start The Wire. I know it is considered quite possibly the best show ever made, but every time I get the chance to watch it I end up falling asleep. Not because it’s boring but because I’m almost always tired. Then I spend my weekends playing games or watching weeb shit, so… yeah. It’s at the top of my watchlist. Finish The Wire before 2017 or kick myself in the chest. >_<
  • Spotlight is such a good movie, but it is so fucked up. So, so, so, so fucked up. It is disgusting how many suspected pedophiles are amongst priests alone. When you think about the population as a whole… It’s like this whole shit with Jared. It makes me legit irate. I’m just going to stop because this is going to turn into a long rant. I already feel it. Anyway, Spotlight it is wonderfully done in terms of acting and production, but the subject matter is definitely unsettling. There is my review.
  • The same kind of goes for Room. It is such a good movie, but the subject matter is saddening. I really love characters like Brie Larson’s “Ma” because she is the epitome of what a hero(ine) is. I cannot imagine the amount of courage and strength it takes to endure a situation like that, and still keep your child completely oblivious to how screwed up things actually are. It is definitely a tearjerker. I highly recommend it.
  • Saw Deadpool. Funny as hell, as expected. Not a perfect movie, but it is the perfect Deadpool movie. That is all that matters, right?
  • Saw Batman v Superman… and I don’t even know what to say. Outside of Ben Affleck playing a good Batman and Gal Gadot slaying as Wonder Woman the movie was balls. It was just plot holes galore, Jesse Eisenberg doing who knows what drug to play Lex Luthor (or supposedly Lex Luthor Jr. which is even dumber), disappointing character development, flop villains all around… I don’t even know. And they didn’t even have the decency to reward the audience for sitting through that with some after credits scenes. The disrespect. LOL. I mean, it wasn’t the worst movie ever made. It was just tolerable at best.

I have so much to cover that I just kinda typed without worrying about typos or curbing my potty mouth… fingers. Anyway, sorry about all of that. I think it’s been like five months since my last entry. D:

✪ Personal Life ✪

Honestly, my personal life is just waiting for Dragon Age: Inquisition. I have not been “here” since I preordered that game, so…there is that.

✪ Art & Writing ✪

Not much writing or drawing. I did start on a story for NaNoWriMo, but I doubt I will get it done in time. Especially with DA:I coming out in less than ten days. More than likely, I’ll keep working on the story because I am really enjoying it. It’s about a girl who is desperate for a job, and ends up accepting an assistant position for a supervillain. She knows that the supervillain is a horrible person, but the pay is amazing and she gets a lot of cool yet weird perks…like minions to clean her house and stuff. I have never really tackled a comedy story before, so it’s fun. TBH it feels more like a manga. I think I will start drawing it pretty soon. Of course, I am always working on Mythos The Millennium Sorceress, so that’s all good. All is good in the creative world~

✪ Anime & Manga ✪

  • …What the fuck is Terraformars? Mark and I were in tears over the jacked cockroaches, but we eventually decided to just overlook the overabundance of muscles in this anime and get into the story. Then came the censorship. It might be Crunchyroll, but every time a gruesome death happens this black bar blocks out everything. So that pissed us off. We are interested in the story. That is the aggravating thing. We just cannot stop laughing at the things we consider ridiculous, and then the fucking black bars on everything. *sigh* The shit I put up with to follow a plot. It really makes no sense sometimes.
  • I’m really getting into Wolf Girl and Black Prince. I know Erika and Sata are going to inevitably end up together, but Kusakabe is so adorable. If given the option between someone mean like Sata, and a sweetheart like Kusakabe then I would choose the latter. That might make me “boring” but oh well.
  • I finished the Aku no Hana anime and decided to move on the manga to see what happened after that ending. Yeah…I thought Takao and Sawa were messed up, but nope. Saeki is slowly taking that cake.
  • Because Mark won’t stop bugging me about it I am reading All You Need Is Kill. It better be as flawless and amazing as he claims. -_-

✪ Video Games ✪

  • After I trade in my 3DS they announce the Majora’s Mask 3D game. *internal screaming* I’m kidding. It’s cool since (a) Mark still has his 3DS, (b) Majora’s Mask won’t get here until Spring 2015, (c) I got Mark a copy of Fantasy Life with the trade-in credit (He is 1000% in love with that game BTW. I never stop hearing about it. LOL), and (d) I got to preorder the ultimate Dragon Age: Inquisition with the rest. Speaking of DA:I…
  • HOLY FUCK I’M EXCITED. I honestly did not think I would be able to play it until next year because…well…I just rarely have the funds to buy games on the first day. Or I do have the funds but my frugality makes it impossible for me to enjoy the game without guilt because it is over $20. Either way, I did not foresee myself getting DA:I on the first day, better yet the ultimate edition with all the preorder goodies. Sometimes I see the 18th on the calender and I have to remind myself that there is a copy at Gamestop actually waiting there for me. Maybe to play at midnight. I don’t know. The last time I went to a midnight release was for Final Fantasy XIII, so it has been a while. Man…less than ten days. If I could just fast forward time that would be great.

✪ Books ✪

  • What I love about Haruki Murakami is how gradually he includes supernatural elements into his stories, as if they have always been there and the reader is just learning about it through someone else’s story. In other words he has a talent for seamlessly including the supernatural into everyday normal life without it coming off as an obvious fantasy story. That is something I can kind of relate to. Growing up, I believed a bunch of weird things like aliens living amongst us and turning into their true forms the moment I turned my back. Because of that I used to carry around compact mirrors as a kid in hopes of catching one of them mid-transformation. I also used to believe what Aomame believes about crossing dimensions unknowingly, and like her that assumption was triggered when I did not know something that everyone else around me considered common knowledge. I…was a weird kid. Scratch that, I am still weird. Knowing all of that, it is nice to find the works of authors who use their weirdness to create beautiful stories. It has a purpose outside of constant ostracization and being badgered with questions about my thinking process! LOL
  • The World of Ice and Fire is greaaaat~ I am only borrowing it right now, but I would love to buy it, take my time examining all the beautiful art, and reading every little detail about GRRM’s world. It is inspiring. My imagination has been a little lifeless lately, but it grows vivid the moment I am introduced to someone else’s imagination. The mind is a beautiful thing. I must never let it go to waste. That is something I am learning each time I experience the joy of reading another person’s story.

✪ Music ✪

  • Find Drag-on Dragoon 3 DLC OST. Add “Chaotic Song”, “Better End”, “Tsukiru/Exhausted”, “This Silence is Mine”, and “Kuroi Uta/Black Song” to my queue. Put that shit on repeat for the rest of my life. That has pretty much been my  music activity. The originals are great on their own (Well, Chaotic Song was originally Thirteenth Chapter Final in Drag-on Dragoon 1, and it was just a bunch of bells…but it is unique. I don’t mind listening to it), but to hear them reprised into battle themes is just god tier shit.
  • I really love Pogo’s remixes. “Psycho Soup” is great, and gives me hope that he will remix more video games in the future. Maybe anime too. Who knows? He always surprises me with his songs. My favorite remix is still “Hundred Acre Rain” though. Instant picker upper.

✪ TV & Movies ✪

  •  Maleficent – Eh… It was okay. I am liking this new Disney trend of princesses being rescued by someone other than a prince though. I love princesses like Mulan and Tiana who save themselves, but a princess being rescued by a family member or villain is a fresh angle too.
  • The Edge of Tomorrow – Not bad at all. Since Mark insists the story/manga is better I will read that.
  • WWE – I’m playing catch up right now. I’m also crossing my fingers and hoping that the authority crumbles.
  • South Park – I’m not sure what is happening, but I barely laughed in recent episodes. This happens sometimes. The creators of SP try so hard to express their opinion on political issues that they kind of overlook the comedy aspect. Oh well…
  • ANTM – It’s getting to a point where I don’t want anyone to get eliminated because I like them all. Raelia leaving just sucked, man. She should definitely keep modeling no matter what.

I’m sure I watched other things, but I can’t remember them all right now.

✪ Whatever Else/Closing ✪

Before I go, I’d like to remind all the people who like to command strangers to watch their shit while they use the bathroom to beware of individuals like me. Because we will laugh, walk away, and leave your shit sitting there. Or if you meet someone like my past co-worker, he will straight up toss your shit in the trash. Lesson: pretend that your parents raised you properly. It takes a few seconds to say, “Hey, I’m sorry to bother you, but can you watch my drink while I take a piss?” Most of the time, someone will say: “Sure,” and be glad to help someone out. But if you just go to a stranger and bark: “Watch my drink!” (which happened to me) then…yeah. Your drink is going to get abandoned, and if someone cleaning up asks me if the drink is mine I’m just going to say nope. Then you can spend another $3 at Burger King getting a large drink because you had to be a dick and order around people who have no obligation to obey you. Whomp whomp.

Aaand I’m off. I got some mangas to catch up on.

090: Nornir

FFXV looks amazing.

Trying to reorganize my blog entries again. Bear with me.

✪ Personal Life ✪

  • Whenever I get sick I sometimes remember that the purpose of the “bug” is to kill me, not to inconvenience me, and it brings home that death is always right around the corner. Also, I am fun at parties.
  • I kind of want to give myself a high five right now because I had this long list of shit I wanted to clean and organize (as I try to do every change of season), and I tackled it today. While I am still semi-sick. But at the same time I kind of want to kick myself in the face because when I’m healthy I never do shit, yet when I’m sick I suddenly find a bunch of energy and invest 4-5 hours into chores. I am too backwards for my own good. D:
  • Halloween is almost here~ That’s the day that I dump a bunch of candy into my pumpkin bowl, turn off all the lights so trick-or-treaters won’t ask me for any, and watch scary movies until I pass out. It’s gonna be NICE. Hopefully. But I never know.
  • 99% of the time when I refer to someone as “my baby” or “my boo” IRL I am talking about either Link or Levi(athan). The cat and the car respectively.

✪ Art & Writing ✪

  • Titles are a headache. I know that “Mythos” is not good enough anymore, yet nothing else seems to be good enough either. Mark suggested having a name for the series (ex: GRRM’s “A Song of Fire and Ice”) and then naming each book based individually (ex: “A Game of Thrones”, “A Feast for Crows”, “A Storm of Swords”, etc.). That’s not a bad idea. In fact, his advice led me to a series name (“The Millennium Sorceress”). The issue though is that I am not even set on the idea of books. I’ll bring that to the next bullet.
  • The more I work on “Mythos” (let’s just stick with the usual title until I am set on “TMS” or anything else), the more it feels like an RPG. And it makes sense. I began this project because I was inspired by RPGs like Final Fantasy and Chrono Cross. I like the whole travelling around the world, meeting party members, and telling stories through dialog and battles. Actually, I’m waiting for RPG Maker VX Ace to go back on sale again so I can start working with it. It’s about $60 on Steam right now, but it was $15 once. So I’ll wait. Until then I’ll try “Mythos” as an RPG instead. Let’s see if that helps this horrible writer’s block I am dealing with.
  • Nanowrimo is around the corner, but I don’t think I will participate this year. My creative juices are flowing more towards the technical side (drawing, creating maps, making skill trees, etc.) than the writing side. I really am a shit writer. I can’t explain things as beautifully and poetically as the writers I admire. *pouts* Oh well…
  • Drawing comics about the things that are bothering me can be really therapeutic. Oddly enough, it is not revisiting unpleasant things and making them comical that makes me feel relaxed. It is more the freedom to be meticulous. Whipping that ruler out, drawing perfect lines, being uber-cautious with inking–that is the part that makes me feel…in control. I just like the feeling of taking something as chaotic as something I cannot avoid, like misfortune, and making it all neat. Manageable, even. It’s comforting.

✪ Anime & Manga ✪

I tried out the Funimation and Crunchyroll apps for two weeks, and I managed to catch up on a bunch of animes.

  • Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-Kun – I really love this anime. It’s lighthearted. It’s funny. The main character is really easy to relate to while the supporting characters remind me of so many people I know. It’s just a feel-good anime that I can see myself rewatching the moment the series is done. Also, that ending song. It’s so cute and it’s stuck in my head. D:
  • Gintama – I will get the Crunchyroll app just to finish this anime. Seriously. Within the first minute or so I was dying of laughter.
  • Tonari no Seki-kun – Another funny anime. Seki reminds me so much of Mark. He just has an endless supply of tiny toys that he does distracting stuff with. Seriously, we have been living in this apartment for a while and I am still discovering random toys in random places doing random things, and whenever I ask him to explain it he has some elaborate story for why they are there. So, it’s no surprise that he loved the hell out of this anime. It is a pretty cute anime. I just wish it was longer. 😦
  • Naruto Shippuden – Dude, I have not watched this anime in years. I came back to it to see what happened and found out Team 7/Team Kakashi is back together. What the fuck? Wasn’t Sasuke evil? Yeah… hella behind. I found out that Naruto is coming to an end really soon too, so that’s kind of bittersweet. I know Naruto gets shit on a lot (as anything remotely popular does), but…that’s fucking Naruto man. It’s going to be sad to see it go. I never got into One Piece, but I might start checking that anime out so I’m not without a staple shounen series to fall back on. Well…I have Toriko. That counts as shounen, right? Sometimes I forget because Toriko is an adult who is very, extremely manly. But so is Goku and DBZ is shonen anime/manga legend. It’s all good.
  • Dramatical Murder – Eh… Compared to the game it was very tame. I like the music though. I never skipped the opening and closing because I liked the songs a lot. The animation was also nice. I didn’t get to see much of my bb Mink, but it was still OK.
  • Sword Art Online II – Didn’t like it as much as I liked the first. Mark was really into it though.
  • Akame ga Kill! – Started off interesting. Got bored around episode 3 or 4. I might try again another time.
  • High School DxD – …What the fuck did I watch…? Pretty sure it was hentai.
  • The Idol Master – a.k.a. the anime based on the game that made Kentaro Miura stop working on Berserk. LOL. I saw the first episode, and it seemed adorable. I would not mind seeing how the rest goes.

Speaking of Berserk, that manga update. YES. I have been waiting for someone to slap the shit out of Griffith ever since the Eclipse, and I am so glad it was Rickert.  That blatant disrespect at the graveyard of swords too was just… Yeah. He needed the taste slapped out of his mouth. Well, I think he deserves much more than that–MUCH MUCH MORE–but to get pimp slapped at his own tea party by a kid in front of all of his friends was pretty nice. 10/10. Not okay with that ‘Til’ Next Time’ though.

✪ Video Games ✪

  • I doomed my FFVII replay by going to that fucking Northern Cave. Now that I completed the game I just have no motivation to do anything else. It kind of sucks. There are still weapons to beat and special items to get, but I have this sense of closure from completing the game. Maybe I’ll play tomorrow or something. IDK.
  • Alien: Isolation was amazing. Please don’t listen to IGN’s review. The person who reviewed it was bitter about constantly dying and tried to blame the game for it. The thing is… he started the game on hard mode. Of course you will die a lot if you choose to play a game in hard mode. What were you expecting? Additionally, he mentioned his tactic of hiding in the vents to avoid confronting a xenomorph, but xenomorphs travel through the vents. That’s like trying to avoid getting hit by a car by standing in the middle of the street. I’m sorry, but it irks the hell out of me when companies give poor reviews to games because they suck at it. A lot of people who worked hard to make a superior game can lose money and their jobs because of shit reviews like that. It’s just really irresponsible journalism. No one should never blame the quality of a product on their inability to handle it. I hate seeing reviews like that on sites like Amazon (“This product clearly says to do this but I’m going to do the opposite and bitch about it online.”), and I especially hate seeing reviews like that when it comes to games. /rant
  • My gaming life is still being consumed by Borderlands 2. This weekend was free gold weekend, so I took the opportunity to input a fuckton of shift codes. I have 100+ keys, new skins, new heads. It’s really nice. Lately, I’ve been grinding/farming with Maya in hopes of catching her up to Gaige, and I’m getting kind of close. Maya is level 13. Gaige is level 19. I just have to take my time around Tundra Express, and hope that I don’t run into any badass anythings. If I stick with the varkids and a few basic bandits I can level up pretty fast. It’s not a big deal though. Gaige is still my main character. I’m just curious about Maya’s phaselocking potential. 😛
  • Don’t talk to me about Hyrule Warriors, Super Smash Bros Wii U or Bayonetta 2 because I don’t have a Wii U and I don’t know when I’ll get one tbh (Yes, I know SSB is on the 3DS but I can’t afford that one either).
  • I played the Theatrhythm: Curtain Call demo, and it was so fun! I really want to play the full version. 200 Final Fantasy songs? Are you kidding me? I need that right now. ;_;
  • LET’S TALK ABOUT DRAGON AGE: INQUISITION THO.
  • Praying to the video game gods rn so I save up $400 and get a PlayStation 4.  I don’t want to imagine my life without Final Fantasy XV, Final Fantasy Type-0, The Witcher 3, Kingdom Hearts 3. What else am I missing? A bunch of games, I am sure. PLUS all the PSX classics. Just thinking about playing Xenogears in the immediate future makes me want to dance around. *sigh* Just gotta work hard. Keep tackling bills, taking care of home, and saving. I’ll get there soon enough.

✪ Books ✪

Nothing to really add here. I haven’t ventured beyond the same books I piled at my bedside last time. I’ve just been caught up in other hobbies. I am really looking forward to The World of Ice and Fire though. Like, REALLY looking forward to it. I’ve been annoying Mark with my excitement for it. Whoops. LOL. The same goes for the Chrono Cross Ultimania. I have my eyes on that too. It’s been out forever, but I’m deciding now to say “fuck it” and add it to my collection. Soon.

✪ Music ✪

  •  Is it safe to say that the Super Smash Bros. soundtracks are like the Lollapaloozas for game composers? Seriously, Nobuo Uematsu, Masashi Hamauzu, Yoko Shimomura, Yasunori Mitsuda,  Koji Kondo, Motoi Sakuraba, Keiichi Okabe, Mahito Yokota–LEGENDS. So, it’s safe to say that I am listening to a lot of SSB songs lately. The greatest thing is hearing my favorite composers revamp songs I have been listening to since I was a kid. I never get tired of it. I can hear 1,000 renditions of the Super Mario theme and still get an overwhelming urge to whip out my old school consoles.
  •  Kingdom Hearts 2.5 OST. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN REMADE WITH MORE VIOLINS. If this is a sample of what Yoko Shimomura is going to do with Final Fantasy XV then I am hyped as fuck. There are so many game soundtracks that I need in my life right now. It’s not even funny anymore. -_-

✪ TV & Movies ✪

Man, I don’t even know where to start.

  • South Park – The biggest premiere for me. Of course, SP is as funny and controversial as ever. The thing I am loving most, though, is the continuity. It’s neat that they’re carrying clues from episode to episode until the inevitable conclusion at the season finale. This is SP though. They might string the audience along just to come to an anticlimactic conclusion. Yeah, I can definitely see that happening. LOL
  • The Legend of Korra – Hilarious as always until something destroys my soul.
  • Grey’s Anatomy – …Why am I still watching this show? Seriously, Yang is gone. There is no point for me anymore.
  • Sons of Anarchy – JAAAAX!!! *kicks table over* GEMMAAAA!!! *kicks over all of the chairs* CHARMING IN GENERAL!!!! *flying kick to the window*
  • Gotham –  Not a bad show at all. I hate that I keep missing episodes though. I would be so far behind in everything were it not for Hulu.
  • American Horror Story – Never fails to creep me out. I love it.
  • SNL – Can we just have an entire hour about the nightclubs that Stefon goes to?
  • ANTM – Two words: beard weave. Please stop, Tyra. XDD
  • Forever – Interesting.
  • Agents of Shield – So far so good. If anything happens to Simmons and/or Fitz I am going to…do nothing. Just be really sad. :/
  • The Flash – !!!
  • Gracepoint– I LOVE THIS SHOW. Mark makes fun of me for taking it so seriously, but it is not a joke to me, and he knows there will be trouble if he changes the channel while Gracepoint in on. So much trouble.
  • Total Divas – Never really sat down and watched this show until recently. It’s…eye-opening, I guess? I honestly don’t feel like I’m learning anything about the wrestlers because everything feels scripted. It’s nice to see more of Naomi though. She needs that Divas championship like yesterday. I adore AJ, yes, but Naomi is more athletic to me. I need her to own it at some point.
  • Drunk History – I never get tired of this show. I think I watched a few episodes like three times already because they’re so funny and insightful. Watch it. Even if you’re like me and you rarely drink (or don’t drink at all) just watch it. It’s hilarious.
  • WWE – Last but not least this trash (LOL). Okay, I’ll admit. I was marking the fuck out when The Rock showed up. And he was in Brooklyn?! Yeah, I was happy about that. I’m bummed about Roman Reigns STILL being gone though. Dean Ambrose is filling the void he left, but with John Cena being forced into the Dean and Seth feud it just makes everything kind of…ugh. I don’t hate John Cena. I’m just tired of him. Yes, we get it. Hustle, you can’t see me, never give up. Whatever. Then again, I know he is mainly there for the little kids who never get tired of him, and not so much the adult fans who want  more interesting characters. That is where Dean comes in. He pretty much doesn’t give a shit and does whatever he wants, so I think that is why older fans adore him. Anyway, what’s next? Hell in the Cell? I’m rooting for Dean Ambrose to win. Still, I kind of want Brock Lesnar to show up and chew through the cell or something just to fuck everything up. That would be great.

I haven’t seen any new movies lately. I REALLY want to see Gone Girl.

✪ Whatever Else/Closing ✪

*phew* That was a lot!

Well, this week is going to be a long one for me. There is so much to get done. I only hope that with the spare time I find in between all of the annoying stuff that I can work on an RPG. If not “Mythos” then at least a brand new idea. I’d rather not start a new one though. Yeah…I have nothing else to add. Gonna tackle some crap and then start working on some stuff. I *might* upload some drawings soon too. At last, I have some sketches that I consider decent enough to share. So I will share them soon. Hopefully.

Take care, everyone. ♥

✪ Personal Life ✪

Well, things are improving. Finally.

The issue with HR was sorted out with surprisingly zero issues… minus the long time it took. I wish I could say the same for USPS. It turns out that the reason I haven’t been receiving mail for three months is because some genius marked my home as “unoccupied” in their system. The manager at USPS was baffled. My landlord was baffled. Mark and I were definitely baffled. It was just…a really stupid and senseless mistake. The thing is that you cannot mark a home as unoccupied unless the carrier speaks with the landlord about changing the status. Well, the landlord said she never spoke to any carrier about the status of our apartment, better yet it being unoccupied. Like us, she thought it was stupid that they would change the status when we have been living in the same place for like six years now. As before the carriers and workers at USPS had zero explanation for their fuck ups besides some shrugged shoulders and promises to “look into it”. I don’t want anyone to get fired over this, but the person responsible should at least get mandatory retraining or something. This is not a mistake where a slap on the wrist is sufficient. They really screwed A LOT of shit up for me. Then again, if the head of our local USPS is practically brain dead then I cannot be surprised that their carriers and front desk clerks are not far behind. We spoke to them at least twice a week for the last three months, yet it took them THIS long to notice the issue. Management said it wasn’t difficult to research…so…what the fuck? I’m especially livid about it all because I asked them multiple times to check the status of our address. I kept asking: “Can you see if there is a redirection notice? An illegal change of address? Is our home marked as unoccupied or something?” And they kept telling me he same shit: “No. We don’t see any issues.”

Do you want a karate chop to the neck?
Because that is how you get a karate chop to the neck.

Ranting aside, it was all sorted out finally. We woke up to three months worth of mail stuffed in our mailbox, minus everything that was sent back–which we received a lot of calls about. I am still missing a package but luckily it was just some cell phone covers that I paid like $2.00. Actually, nothing was over $5 save for my Final Fantasy VII Ultimania book that took the longest to arrive. I ordered it back in March. Just got in this month. I did contact all of the sellers and paid them for all of the refunds and re-shipments they made which made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. No sarcasm. It really did. Every single seller was shocked when I offered to pay them for the packages that arrived. They said most people would just take it and not say anything. It was nice to be called an honest person, but it’s still pretty weird to me that someone would do otherwise. Theft doesn’t stop becoming theft because the person you steal from is unaware of it. This seems more like common sense than integrity to me.

Anyway, I’m glad all of that is out of the way. Here is a pic of the FFVII Ultimania BTW:

I really love it! The only problem is that I can’t read Japanese for shit, so all I can really do is rely on online translations and the pretty pictures inside. My favorite part of the book is the listing of every weapon and accessory. IT IS FUCKING GLORIOUS. I would love to get the Chrono Cross Ultimania next, but after this whole issue with USPS and the fact that it’s like $40…. I’ll have to wait. But it’s going to be next. And, dammit, I will learn Japanese if it kills me!

Okay, that’s all I have to contribute from my personal life.

Actually, one more thing. In this past week alone I had two dreams about Dean Ambrose and one about Roman Reigns.  In the first dream I had about Dean Ambrose he was buying makeup at a flea market for some reason? I remember telling him that I was getting bored, so he was like “Ok, I’ll drop you off at home” and he drove me home on a roller coaster. LOL. Okay? The second one was equally weird. I dreamt that I was crying about something and Dean just showed up and said: “Come on. I’ll get you some tea at my condo.” So we take the bus to his condo and it was in this Las Vegas-looking building that was in the middle of the fucking suburbs where I live. So, I went to his condo and we were drinking tea and he was ranting to me about Seth Rollins betraying him. Even in my dream, I said something along the lines of: “Dean, what does this have to do with anything?” and he said it was really similar. No, Dean. No. LOL. As for the Roman Reigns one, I was in this militarized group that was fighting bandits in the future (I blame Borderlands 2 for this one), and Roman Reigns was a war hero that no one saw for years, and I stumbled on him sitting in the snow, just chillin and shit. So, I was like: “Dude, everyone is looking for you,” and he just shrugged and started talking to me about how weird it was that Earth had like ten moons???

Seriously, what the fuck? My dreams are so dumb. Like, I’m glad that I can remember most of them (or my dream diary would be useless), but they provide little to no insight on anything besides the fact that I am too deep into WWE and I should lay off video games for a little bit.

Okay, that’s it. -_-

✪ Art & Writing ✪

I’ve been doing plenty of writing and, surprise, it’s not “Mythos”! *throws confetti*

I am working on a comic book about a super-heroine. I am sure that with the gazillion superheroes between DC and Marvel alone that her name and powers will be nothing unique, but my mission is not to be unique. It is to just tell a story.

I am still working on Mythos but not as much as I would like to. I might be avoiding it on purpose. Everything is getting really sad in the story. Actually, the whole story is like Nier sad. I’m not about to change it or anything, but I guess deep down I wanted to work on something a little more upbeat.

That’s been about it.

✪ Anime & Manga ✪

I really have nothing to add here. Aside from the recent Berserk update, I haven’t really been reading any mangas.

As far as animes, SAILOR JUPITER HAS GRACED MY LIFE WITH HER RE-PRESENCE.

That’s all that matters. ( ; w ; )

✪ Video Games ✪

LOTS of Borderlands 2. I am playing as a mechromancer/Gaige. I started off as a siren/Maya, but I ended up replaying everything as a mechromancer once I got my siren to Sanctuary. I really love Deathtrap a lot although the phaselock ability is pretty neat too. BTW, Mark tried playing with a psycho and he told me that he shouted: “Look me in the eyes when I scream at your soul!” or something really disturbing like that. I could not stop laughing. He also told me about a story where the psycho character attempted to hold a conversation with Maya, but could not articulate his thoughts, so he shouted: “I’m the conductor of the poo-poo train!” I’m so done with Borderlands 2. LOL. That game can go from dark to hilarious so fast, especially when Claptrap gets involved. And half the shit psychos yell are disturbingly funny too. Yeah, I love that series. I hope it goes on forever.

Really, I’ve been thinking about that new LoZ 2015 game and The Witcher 3 nonstop. How am I going to get a Wii U and PS4 within the next year? And then there is *ANOTHER* 3DS coming out with Xenoblade Chronicles and customizable plates and customizable menus. The moment I heard the news I pretty much said “Wow? Seriously, Nintendo? You guys are dicks!” and then I immediately started planning ways to get it anyway. LOL. I hate video games but I also love video games but I also hate video games but I also love video games. This is not a good relationship to have with anything.

✪ Books ✪

At this point,  I am going through my bookshelf and rereading all of the books I am fond of…which has pretty much been Haruki Murakami and a bunch of classics. I realized that I have a ton of workbooks for different languages that I haven’t even touched yet. I have the German, Japanese, and ASL books set aside so I can start brushing up on them again. Mark is willing to learn German with me for the sole purpose of speaking German angrily at inappropriate times. That should be fun. I know German is often considered the “angry-sounding language”, but I really like the sound of it. It’s also way easier to learn than most languages I’ve come across. It would be nice to be fluent in something else besides English.

✪ Music ✪

I really love the Guardians of the Galaxy OST. Not just the “Awesome Mix”, but also the score. I’m pretty much obsessed with “To the Stars”, “Black Tears”, and “Groot Spores”. “To the Stars” is perfect writing and drawing music. I pretty much keep it on loop while I’m working on one or the other. Outside of that I haven’t really been listening to much else.

Yes, I am aware that the VMAs aired recently, but outside of Beyonce’s performance I really didn’t care to catch up on whatever else happened there. BTW, I’m laughing because people really think that “The Beygency” is not legit. Like, some idiot decided to make fun of Blue Ivy’s hair on BET and got ruined by the beyhive faster than (s)he could apologize. Do you think this is a motherfucking game? The beyhive is not playing.

But that is not new news. Onwards.

OBSESSED WITH FKA TWIG’S LP1. OBSESSED. You know you’re going to be in love with an album when you get hooked on the prelude. LOL. I cannot recommend it enough. It’s like Aaliyah crossed with Massive Attack crossed with some dubstep but not an intolerable amount. Beautiful.

✪ TV & Movies ✪

I finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy! I’m already planning to see it again.

I can’t even pick a favorite character at this point. Peter “Starlord” Quill is a funny cutie with superb taste in music. Gamora is a gorgeous assassin cutie. Groot is a precious wooden cutie. Rocket Raccoon is just an all-around cutie. Drax is a cutie for so many reason but mostly because he’s oblivious to the point of being adorable and he’s Batista. I love them all. I even love Ronan and Nebula as evil cuties. Perfect ensemble is perfect. And cuties. * w *

Outside of shameless Guardians of the Galaxy fangirling I haven’t really been watching much. A bunch of season premieres are starting in September so I’ll have to do a bit of waiting before I can start catching up on some shows again. I’m looking forward to South Park the most. This summer has been pretty much nonstop adoration for Stick of Truth and rewatching every South Park episode. I never get tired of that show. Ever. From the looks of things, I don’t get tired of the game either. That Goldeneye-type South Park game for the N64 was pretty serious too.

✪ Whatever Else/Closing ✪

Hmm…I don’t know what else to add. I’m just working on my projects, playing my games, the usual. I make it all sound like it’s nothing but I do not want to imagine a life where I cannot write, draw, and/or play games on a daily basis. That would just suck more balls than…whatever or whoever sucks a lot of balls.

I’m still pretty bummed about Robin Williams, but reading the Time magazine dedicated to him made me feel better. For so long I relied on comedians like him to get me through rough times, and I don’t think I should just disregard his legacy by writing him off as someone who makes me sad. There are so many stories about him going out of his way to make people smile, even when he was suffering. I think as a lifelong fan of his the best way I could honor this…effing genius of a performer is to cherish his work. That should be his legacy, and not the heinous mental illness that took his life and the lives of so many great people.

So… I have nothing else to add except treasure the people who make you smile. Seriously. It could be your parent or that neighbor who always has a funny story to tell. It doesn’t matter. Just treasure the people who give you something to look forward to while they are here. Yeah…that’s all I have to add.

I’ll (probably) feel better next time. ^_^;

SEA GODDESS OF MY LIFE

FIERCE AND BEAUTIFUL SEA GODDESS OF MY LIFE

☆彡 I’m really excited about the new Sailor Moon anime. Sometimes I think about the fact that it’s four months away, and I get revved up with energy. I told Mark that if the anime is released on my birthday that we are not going out at all. I’m going to just countdown to the worldwide live stream, and then spend the rest of the day rewatching the same episode repeatedly until he despises anything Sailor Moon related. The thing I love most about this reboot is all the merchandise that it is bringing. If it is ever dubbed and released in America I can imagine seeing plenty of items in local stores, and that’s practically a guarantee that I will be poorer than I already am. I’m not even remotely sad about that. This is going to be great! I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.

★彡 Wardrobe Goal: everything April Ludgate wears in Parks & Recreation. I would also like to adopt that intense yet lovely glare. Aubrey Plaza is precious.

☆彡 I beat Stick of Truth…in two days (*weeps*). I want to replay already. Oh well. Now I’m going through my pile of shame again. It has been more rewarding than I expected. Assassin’s Creed II is so fun that I spent most of my snow days playing it. I only stopped because I decided to tackle Fable 3. Now I am pretty much incapable of leaving it alone even after saving Albion. Again. I will likely move back to Assassin’s Creed II and then continue on to Gears of War. I’m not sure what happens after that. One day at a time, right? It’s not like going through my pile of shame is unpleasant. The only downside is picking up in places I left off months–sometimes years–ago and having no idea what the fuck is going on. I’m afraid to even return to Lost Odyssey because I don’t know where I was, where I’m supposed to go, who is suppose to learn what skill from which character, etc. Yeah, don’t end up like me. Please finish your games before moving on to others. Especially your RPGs. Those side quests will fuck you up.

★彡 I found some old stories that I was working on in 2010. It’s pretty exciting…by my standards. I’m already reviving one of them because I became obsessed with it again after reading the first page. I also found a sketchbook from 2008 that I did not tear any pages out of. It was extremely rewarding. I wish I left more sketchbooks untampered. Ah, well. I plan to revive this sketchbook too. Mark bought me some new colored pencils, markers, and this awesome Hello Kitty pencil case that comes with a built-in sharpener and eraser holder. INFINITE SHOUT OUTS TO MARK. I’m drawing a bunch of shit right now. They look ridiculous at times, but it’s fun.

☆彡 My favorite thing about Attack on Titan was Levi. And Levi. That is it. Just Levi.

★彡 It’s hard to leave Link alone because I know he still struggles with abandonment issues. There is not a day when I leave the house that I do not come home to find him waiting by the window. Although it is  tearful to think about, I often wonder how many of his past owners just left him waiting somewhere and never returned for him. I know the woman who helped us to adopt him was in tears when she begged us to never leave him or return him because he had a rough past. My baby… He tries so hard to be tough and hides away from us sometimes to be alone, but the moment we come home he just jumps around all over the place. I know there is a part of him that is always relieved to know that we actually returned to him. Ah, I love him so much! As much as it pains me to imagine his death, it pains me even more to imagine something unfortunate happening to us and knowing that he will sit by the window waiting for us only to learn that his waiting is fruitless. I hate the idea of that happening. Until the end of his days, I want to be there for him. That is my only goal as his caretaker. Whether he’s bored, hungry, in need of affection, or prepared to pass away I want him to feel that he can depend on me to be there for him. I really love my cat, okay?  TT___TT

☆彡 The new Game of Thrones season is a month away! I’m pretty excited. Did you see how big Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal were? And don’t even get me started on Dany. PERFECT KHALEESI OF MY SOUL. I got chills when she said, “They can live in my new world or they can die in their old one.” WIGS BEING SNATCHED! Okay, I’m done. LOL. Naturally, I am expecting some more changes from the book…some changes probably not for the best…but I have no complaints about the cast whatsoever. They do magic with whatever scripts they receive, so I am looking forward to that. Also, I’m relieved that they are adding Coldhands this season. At least I believe that was Coldhands in the trailer. Anyway, good year for TV, video games, music, and fandoms as a whole. …Except for The Witcher 3 being delayed. That pretty much blows. I’ll just have to get my silver-haired hero(ine) fix elsewhere. There is Daenerys, of course. There is Zero. Yeah, that sounds good.

★彡 To me, time and money spent doing something that makes you genuinely happy is not a waste at all. There are too many people on this planet who believe they know what is best for everyone they encounter when they have little to no credentials to make that decision. No one can know a person 100%. You can know someone for 20 years and still be unqualified in terms of making choices for him/her, so a few hours a day is definitely not enough. Some people don’t even have a few hours a day to observe someone–just a few minutes or seconds–and they still believe they have complete understanding of a person. You just have to accept that almost all the people who know you are ignorant to what you truly want out of life, and you also have to accept that as someone who is an expert on your own wants and needs you should should make your own choices. So, give yourself some credit. Do not allow others to tell you that you are not doing things properly in your own life. As long as you are not intentionally harming others, you are doing a good job at managing yourself. That is how I feel about that. Of course, you can completely disregard everything I said in this bullet because I do not know what is best for you. It is that easy. 😛

TL;DR Fuck the haters. Do your best, and take pride in your efforts.

☆彡 Beyonce’s new album is great, but to say that it is the best R&B album ever made is…a stretch. It was, to me, the best R&B album of 2013. Overall, though, I would have to say Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” followed by Lauryn Hill’s “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” and then Toni Braxton’s self-titled album. One of my personal favorites (though it’s probably not one of the bests to many people) is “Never Say Never” by Brandy. I didn’t even touch on Whitney House, Marvin Gaye, En Vogue, Mariah Carey, Aaliyah, and D’Angelo yet. So…yeah… I have infinite love for Beyonce’s album–and I was incredibly excited when it was suddenly release–but it’s just not “the best” or even in the Top 20 for the best R&B albums of all time. That’s kind of pushing it, brah. XD

★彡 I’m suspending my lessons in Japanese to work on German. I’m still practicing ASL though. If I had to break language lessons down by difficulty, it would be ASL, German, and then Japanese. ASL is easiest because it’s just learning to replace words with hand motions. No new vocabulary or grammar lessons needed. German is very much like English save for a brand new lexicon to memorize, and some random grammar changes here and there. Japanese is like…learning to speak from scratch. Everything is so different. So, it’s a little hasty to jump from English to Japanese. I know enough bright people who can pull it off (and some who have pulled it off), but I am nowhere near their level of skill. So…baby steps. My goal is to be fluent in those three languages by my 30th birthday. So, that’s a good four years to master that goal. We’ll see if my memory retention disappoints me. Again. LOL

☆彡 If I hear you playing Radiohead, Bjork, or The Smashing Pumpkins I will probably somersault through your window and ask you to tell me everything about your favorite albums. I’m sorry in advance. D:

★彡 I feel bad for anyone who labels me as sweet because they have no idea that I turn into Kainé on my bad days. Whoops. I’m sorry. The good thing is that I don’t go into violent potty mouth mode unless I am faced with the person who intentionally provoked me (OR if I’m dealing with someone who is so insignificant that they are not even worth a single word or second of eye contact from me then I will just ignore them until they finally catch a hint and fuck off). Everyone else will just get a stoic face, one-word replies, and an apology for my mood every other minute.

☆彡 This is my prediction of Wrestlemania XXX. Daniel Bryan is going to defeat Triple H. Naturally, it will not be easy. If Triple H does not cheat then he will just kick ass. Because he’s the goddamn Triple H. Either way, the main event will turn into Daniel Bryan VS Batista VS Randy Orton. I believe Batista will win that. Daniel Bryan will likely beat Randy Orton like it’s his job–again–but Triple H will be pissed about losing and take it out on Daniel Bryan. Batista will take advantage of that in order to win. Yep, I’m going to stick with that theory. I hope that WWE will surprise me with a different plot twist, but that seems to be the general flow of Daniel Bryan pay-per-view matches. As for Brock VS Undertaker…yeah, come on. The Undertaker is going to win. Brock Lesner is not popular enough with the WWE fanbase to do something like break 21-win streak, and not cause a giant rift between fan and company. So, he’s going to lose. Then there’s The Shield and The Wyatt Family. Hmm…that one is tough to predict. Both teams are strong, both teams are headliners, and both teams do not mind cheating in order to win. LOL. So, who knows? If The Wyatt Family happens to win then it could lead to The Shield being brainwashed in the same fashion that Kane and Daniel Bryan were (though it was temporary in Daniel’s case); however, Mark strongly disagrees with that prediction. And he has a point. We believe that The Wyatt Family, like The Shield, is a tool of the authority. We came to this conclusion when Bray Wyatt said “the devil made him do it” after jumping all of those people who pissed of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. So, there really is no purpose in the authority pitting half of their attack dogs against the other half. Still, let’s not forget that The Shield did turn against Kane who is a loyal member of the authority now. Alright. Let’s just do this, I’m going to choose The Wyatt Family because (a) it will be more interesting and cause more controversy, and (b) as much as I love The Shield I love The Wyatt Family even more. I’m drawn to creepy things like crab-walking cult leaders with crazy awesome beards. LOL. We will see how wrong or right I am in April. I will likely ramble on againt about the results as I always do. I cannot help it. This soap opera-esque battle royale realness that WWE has is addicting for some reason. Save me. D:

Okay, I’m going to spend the rest of my weekend not thinking about Dark Souls 2 because I am poor, and probably will not play it for another couple of months. Parenthesis, crying face. There is still quality time I need to spend with my art supplies, Ezio, and this Pokemon marathon I am going through on Netflix thanks to Mark (Kind of OT: Remember when Sabrina’s father showed Ash a family photo that belong to Sabrina in order to hint that he was Sabrina’s father and Ash guessed that he was her photographer and Sabrina’s father was so alarmed by Ash’s stupidity that he literally flew off the bench they were sitting on? Yeah, I’ve been laughing about that for the last hour). He bought Pokemon Y a few days ago, so I never stop hearing about Pokemon. LOL. Now he’s harassing me every day to get Pokemon X. I’m not even kidding when I say he literally wakes up and asks me about getting Pokemon X. So, it’s not even a matter of if anymore but when. *sigh* I’ll do anything for my darling. It will be done. Plus, it’s not like I was not planning to get the game at some point. Why not now?

LET’S DO THIS. [ 3DS PLAYING INTENSIFIES ]

“Close my shark , human.”

★彡 I beat Dragon Age 2 a few days ago. I was a warrior the first time around, so I am going to replay as a mage. That should make the plot a lot more interesting. Not that replaying really matters. Anders is still going to ruin my life again…with his anger-induced possessions and love of cats and unshaven pony-tailed face. Ugh, fuck off, Anders.

☆彡 *slowly teaches Mark to stop asking my permission for everything* (LOL)

Seriously, nothing gives me joy like Mark buying things and going places without seeking my approval first. Yes, I understand that his heart is in the right place, but…he’s 28 years old. It’s kind of depressing for a 28 year old to have to get permission from a 26 year old to do shit, you know? I don’t even let 60 year olds tell me what to do better yet people younger than me. Then again, I am the type of person who hates being ordered around (unless I’m getting paid to or I have immense respect for the person giving orders), so I value independence and personal space a lot. I never want to be in a position where I am forced to strip someone of independence and space every human being deserves. Oh well. He will learn. He is learning. That’s good enough for now.

★彡 Glad to see that Rey Mysterio is back. Sadly, that’s pretty much all I care about in WWE right now.

☆彡 I don’t know why I wait until December to hang up lights. I’m just going to string them around my bedroom and leave them there all year. Also, I have yet to own a tree that wasn’t green, so I’m going to get a blue or white tree this year.

★彡 Man, the ASOIAF fans who haven’t read the books yet are in for several headfucks next season. The purple wedding alone is going to be *in Zack Ryder’s voice* siiiiiiiick (…wait….what am I doing? I hate Zack Ryder). Anyway, just a few more months, ASOIAF fandom. Almost there.

☆彡 My blowdryer decided to explode on me and then make a Silent Hill-esque siren noise afterwards. That wasn’t terrifying at all. Luckily, there was no fire. It was just loud and smoky.

★彡 I plan to get A Link Between Worlds very soon. I haven’t gotten around to it because I have a pile of books on my desk, and I’ve been going through them at breakneck speed. Finally. I should be all caught up within the next week or so…book-wise anyway. My gaming pile is still pretty pathetic.

☆彡 The worst feeling in the world is when you catch yourself doing something despicable and suddenly you question everything about yourself. I am by no means a goody-two shoes. My need to constantly explore new things is to blame for most of that. But there are definitely some lines I never cross, particularly lines that involve hurting others. I can live with hurting myself but not others. The truth is that I am a completely different person when I am in the middle of a panic attack. While I am in that mode, self-preservation is my only priority. Everything and everyone else stops mattering. That doesn’t change the fact that selfish is selfish. I don’t believe for a second that this part of me is impossible change. I just…need to put myself in panic-inducing situations until I learn to have complete control of myself during them. Until then, I am a dumb loser during 50% of my life. Whomp-whomp.

★彡 The things I am hearing about the XBox One are…tragic. The XBox 360 has been so pleasant for me that I hoped that the XBox One would be a worthy upgrade of it. Meh. I guess it is high time I got back to Sony anyway. The last time I owned a Sony console was back in 2004 or so when my PS2 broke. I have nothing against Sony. XBox just had a better selection of games these past few years, and games that were once Sony exclusives became multiplatform. This time around there are important-ass exclusives like Drakengard 3, Final Fantasy XV, and Kingdom Hearts 3 that I have to look out for. Also, there are some old Sony exclusive titles like Chrono Cross and a few Final Fantasy titles that I would love to download. So, a Playstation 4 is a definite for me. It’s just a matter of when I save up $400.

☆彡 The thing I hate most about my stories is that my characters have so much potential, yet they always end up the same one-dimensional carbon copy of the last character. I don’t spend enough time really fleshing them out. It’s easy to say: “this one is laid-back” or “this one is energetic”, but actually putting details into a character like pet peeves, addictions, allergies, fruitless dreams, poignant memories–that takes real effort. Effort I seldom give. For now, I am going to stop working on plots and drawings, and start working on those little things. I also need to work on more characters outside the main characters. Supporting characters don’t get enough credit for the life they give to stories. They are just that: support. I need to remember this! Well, I’m not going to worry too much about NaNoWriMo at this point. It is damn near impossible to meet the word count goal so late in the game, and my head isn’t really into it this year. I just want to crack open my Mythos binder and contribute more to it than fancy costumes. LOL

★彡 It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia gives me life. I have never laughed so hard in my life.

☆彡 I am currently working on a way to modify my bo staff. I’m in the sketching and tossing crumpled paper across the room phase right now. Not fun…but turning my bo staff into a Final Fantasy like weapon is going to be sweeeet. I thought about turning it into a lance, but as often as that thing topples over I don’t think it’s a good idea to add a blade to the end of it. LOL. I’m just going to stick with a basic staff. Right now I am set on something between Yuna’s starting staff and her Nirvana staff. I want to name my staff “Phantasmagoria”…because it’s my favorite word. Yes, I know I’m a colossal loser. Leave me alone. 😐

★彡 I’m glad that Nier is finally getting the respect it deserves. Thanks Game Informer for pointing out what a masterpiece it is.

Also, fuck what the Nier haters said.

bending

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and please be careful if you participate in Black Friday.

080: Hand to Hand

Same.

☆彡 Everything is nice and creepy in time for Halloween. Fufufu~ I love me some Gravelord Nito. Actually, all of the major bosses of Dark Souls are beautiful to me–especially Nito, Quelaag, and Ornstein. I cannot understand why I love a game I am so terrible at…but it happens. While on the topic of Halloween, my plan is to pretty much watch horror movies while wearing something lame and eating candy. I’ll try to leave some for the trick-or-treaters. I could always turn off all the lights and pretend no one is home so I can keep all the candy for myself. I know, I know. I am a terrible.

★彡 Mark showed me something really cool the other day. Sega remade the Sega Genesis and stored 80 games in it. But that’s not the coolest part. That part that made us both scream is its ability to play Sega Genesis cartridges. We have some SG games in storage right now that we would love to play, so that is extremely awesome. I am pretty sure if they remake the Super Nintendo I will freak out. Naturally, I will embarrass myself here when that day comes. Capslock, gifs, bold lettering, and all.

☆彡 It’s ironic to me that females get shit for being “fake geeks” when the biggest impersonators I have ever met in my life were males. Here is the thing about females who love things considered “geeky”. They are willing to endure a lot of harassment for the sake of those things. That’s not to say that guys do not love their fandoms as much as girls or that some girls do not lie about their interests to get praise, but I believe that a person who braves negative feedback in order to do something they have a strong passion for are in it for the right reasons.

★彡 I still haven’t read “The Witcher: Time of Contempt”. It has nothing to do with my lacking an urgency to read it. It’s more about funds and my willing to delay buying it in order to acquire more important things. My poor cat has been scratching at the same demolished scratching board for weeks. I would love to at least get him a new one. Especially now that he has turned our carpet into his new scratching board…which I loathe. So, all I can say is soon. I do miss Geralt terribly. With The Witcher 3 being so far away and the grim possibility of not having a PS4 to play it on for eons after its release, “Time of Contempt” is pretty much all the exposure I will have of him for a good while. That sucks. I miss my beautiful white wolf. D:

☆彡My fascination with Wales has gone from admiration to shameless adoration. Seriously, have you seen their flag? Bad. Ass. I will not say they are a flawless country. I am sure both their past and present has its deal of controversy; however, I am still interested in learning more about Welsh history and its culture. I would obviously love to visit one day too. Also, kind of off topic, but I am set on giving my future children a name of Welsh origin. I’M GOING TOO FAR. I KNOW. But on a serious note, Welsh names are the coolest. It’s no wonder that so many fantasy stories rely on Welsh names for their characters. Vaughn has been one of my favorite names since the dawn of time, and I recently learned that it is of Welsh origin. So…that’s awesome. If I ever have a daughter, her name will be Zelda, but that is the only name I am set on. When it comes to daughters beyond Zelda and sons, I will turn to Welsh names. First, though, I have to convince Mark that we should not name our first son Felix. He just won’t budge on that name. It is killing me. LOL. Coming to an agreement on a boy name always turns into a drawn out debate, but the girl names come easy for us. We love Zelda. We love Elsa. We loved Meredith for ages (which happens to be Welsh for “sea lord”. How cool is that? OwO). Let’s hope we have plenty of girls then. Honestly, we are still going back and forth about reproduction being a good idea in the first place. It’s just a lot of stress we know we cannot handle right now. I am sure if we were living under better circumstances we would jump at the opportunity to raise a little human being, but the time is not right. It rarely is. Anyway, where was I? Ah, yes. Wales. I must go there. Good names, cool flag, nice food, castles aplenty, etc, blah blah blah.

★彡 It’s a bit ridiculous that I have soundtracks for games and animes I’ve never seen before. For example, I am obsessed with my Earth Girl Arjuna and Dream Drop Distance CDs yet I haven’t had the pleasure of enjoying either. I guess it doesn’t matter. Good music is good music. Also, I’ve been a fan of Yoko Shimomura and Yoko Kanno long enough to snatch up anything they release without giving a damn about the projects they belong to. The same goes with anything Masashi Hamauzu, Nobuo Uematsu, Yasanori Mitsuda, Go Shiina, and Keiichi Okabe touches. They could sneeze on an album at this point and I will snatch it up like it was going out of style.

☆彡 Writing about Odin makes me uncomfortable at times because I spent so much time writing about him as a child. To have to turn around now and write about him as an adult who often indulges in “adult” things…I can’t describe how it makes me feel. It’s probably the way many people felt when they saw Miley Cyrus twerking. Like, that’s Hannah Montana. There is just no forgetting that. LOL. Anyway, authors have written about more awkward things, so I shouldn’t complain. It’s fine. At least no one is twerking. Not yet. Okay, no one is ever going to twerk. It would be kind of funny though to have all the dragons come together and form a twerk team. Their twerking would just destroy cities and no one would care.

★彡 OH MY FUCKING GOODNESS THIS SONG THO

YOU THINK THIS A MOTHERFUCKING GAME???!!
(Well, Dream Drop Distance is a game, but you know what I mean.)

☆彡 If someone is going through a really shitty ordeal, you are not being a precious pure knight by telling him/her to get over it and be happy. All you’re doing is trivializing whatever (s)he is going through by telling him/her that it can be magically erased by smiling and pretending it didn’t happen. Sure, it’s not healthy to be angry for all of your life but if you go through something terrible and you just want scream or punch a wall then what’s the problem? Seriously, congrats on being a special snowflake who never copes with anger. You can go shit rainbows somewhere else without pestering us lowly mortals who have the nerves to experience wrath from time to time.

★彡 I don’t really know how I feel about John Cena coming back. I mean…he’s coming back to face Alberto Del Rio of all wrestlers. Alberto is a terrific athlete, but him in a feud with Cena just seems boring. He was just in a feud with Van Dam like two seconds ago. Then again, who else is John Cena going to fight? The biggest superstars aside from him are pretty much Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton, and they’re still in their neverending battle for WWE championship. So…I don’t know. Maybe he came back at the wrong time. I’m sure a couple of months down the line a more reasonable rival would have been waiting. *sigh* Oh well. I know Cena gets a lot of hate but I like him. It’s always good to see him back in the ring, being dorky and cheesy. LOL. If anyone should headline in the near future it should be HHH. I know it’s unlikely with his whole best-for-business-man thing but…man…HHH against Big Show would be an interesting rivalry to witness.

By the way, I haven’t seen Princess AJ around recently. I hope she’s all right. 😦

☆彡 I cannot handle anyone who does the prison pose in pictures. I always end up laughing.

★彡 5,000 years later I am still in disbelief that I have an autographed action figure of Odo. I really love Odo. There are countless Star Trek characters out there I consider loveable but I love him most. Flawless shapeshifter~ The only ones that really rival Odo in terms of my adoration for them are Tuvok, Spock, Worf, Kira, and Paris. Yeah…that’s about it. I pretty much have no fondness for anyone on Enterprise. I didn’t mind the show. There was just…no connection there. D:

☆彡 I was told that I had an evil laugh recently. I can’t even disagree. It gets to 90’s anime villain  levels at times.

★彡 Okay, I am pretty much set on getting Erick Rowan’s mask for Halloween. Honestly, I’ll find any excuse to get that mask. It is awesome.

Alright, I’m gonna work on writing. That’s pretty much taking up all of my time since ideas come constantly these days. Let’s see how far this goes…before I wind up staring at a blank word document and crying into bowls of ramen. LOL

Happy 19 Days ‘Til Halloween! (( ^ w ^ ))

078: Guardian of Wood

Me.

This is what living with my cat is like.

★彡 Skyrim is such a time-consuming game that I actually find myself afraid to play it. For example, I told myself I would play the game for one hour just to complete a quest, and it somehow turned into four hours…and I ended up adopting a daughter…and I caught a serial killer…and I think I held a conversation with a dragon. Everything happened so quickly. All of that aside, this game is amazing. I don’t care how bad my day is, the moment that menu screen loads and “Dragonborn” plays, I am not even on this planet anymore.

☆彡 I am more of a listener than a talker. I don’t mind listening to a person talk for hours if they are saying insightful things. Pretty much anything I can draw useful information from is insightful to me.

★彡No, I am not playing GTA V because I’m poor and I probably won’t be able to play it for months. Parenthesis, crying face.

☆彡 Korean pastries are life-changing. And I’m not just talking about the first time. Pretty much every time is life-changing.

★彡 Me: *watching Sleepy Hollow* “Got us a cool-looking headless horseman, alright alright. WOC as the leading lady? Awesome, awesome. Something about the four horsemen of the apocalypse. I don’t mind that trope at all, looking good, looking good. Wow, this show is–” *headless horseman takes out a shotgun and automatic rifle*

That’s not going to stop me or anything, but still….

☆彡 If you find yourself saying “____ thinks (s)he is ______”, just kick yourself in the fucking mouth. You will look stupid for doing it, but not as stupid as you look pretending that you can read minds and jumping to conclusions with no evidence whatsoever to back it up.

★彡 I haven’t made an Animal Crossing post in a while, huh? Really, nothing is happening in Arni Village. I added a garden to hold my triforce and master sword, but that’s about it. My 3DS is mostly used to play Oracle of Seasons and Pokemon Black 2 these days. I’ll likely make a post if I get the entire varia suit. Right now, I only have the pants though…like three of them. I also have four of Link’s tunics, three boots, two Majora’s masks, and two Midna masks. You really can have too much of a good thing, I guess.

☆彡 Pet Peeve #509: Being told that I should use my drawings to gain money or recognition. I understand that those suggestions are coming from a good place, but why can’t I just enjoy things without it being a job or a contest? The same goes for my writing. A manager once suggested I submit writings to magazines…and then proceeded to lecture me on the “importance” of not “wasting talent” when I said no. Stahp.

★彡 Heyman kissing Ryback on the cheek was so bizarre that it became hilarious. I am still laughing at Ryback’s face when it happened. He looked like the happiest person in the world. LOL. Of course, I knew HHH would come up with some way to screw Daniel Bryan out of his championship. The moment he won I said: “Let’s see how long this lasts”. It wasn’t even 24 hours before it got taken away. Damn shame. Anyway, I know the locker room is going to pay for helping Daniel Bryan on Raw. Smackdown is going to be very interesting this week. The whole company versus employees arc itself  is interesting. I wonder how it will end. I have a feeling either HHH, Stephanie, or Vince is going to start backing Daniel Bryan, and it will create this McMahon-Hemsley civil war. Then different wrestlers will take side and it’ll be a WWE civil war. Maybe that is more of a hope than a prediction.

☆彡 Link’s favorite place to lay down is on top of my Hyrule Historia. I think he is trying to tell me something.

★彡 Speaking of The Legend of Zelda, the more popular a favorite series of mine gets, the happier I get. One, more fans to discuss it with. Two, a bigger fanbase means more products in the future. Three, knowing how happy a series makes me, I am happier to know that others are experiencing that too. For example, I hear so many stories about The Legend of Zelda getting people through hard times the way it always did for me, and it is tear-jerking. You don’t even have to explain yourself to people like that. You both hear about the series and it’s just…a surge of positive feelings. That is amazing to me. Sure, it is probably sad to get emotional over video games while having little to no emotions about “relevant” things, but that’s the way it is for me and many. I think that’s cool.

Bah, next week is jury duty week. Let’s see how that goes…
